Having spent nearly 20 years in the medical device business, in July of 2014, Darren along with his wife Alethia, his two boys Jack and Crosby and three dogs relocated to the Napa Valley from the mid-west. His passion for wine and hospitality flourished during his first 3-years living in wine country and in 2018, Darren acquired a well-established, highly respected wine tour company which focuses on family owned and operated, small producers in both the Napa and Sonoma valleys.
As the owner of Eclectic Tour, Darren has dedicated his new career to creating memorable wine country experiences for his guests including private lunches and dinners, by connecting them with the finest hospitality people and chefs the industry. His relentless pursuit to find the next hidden gem for his clients is what keeps them coming back year after year. Introducing wine lovers to the right wines, people and unique experiences is key for exceeding their expectations. “We have several conversations with our guests prior to their arrival to ensure that we address all their questions and book tastings that capture the varietals, price points and other experiences they wish to enjoy during their time here in wine country.”
Darren is also a musician and played drums in several projects during his time in Minneapolis and continues to do so here in The Napa Valley. He has opened for bands such as Cheap Trick, Counting Crows, Collective Soul, Mike Campbell and Zac Brown Band to name a few. In his current Napa based band Mama Said, Darren has performed at several wineries, local and Bay Area clubs and three consecutive years at the Bottle Rock music festival held each Memorial weekend in Napa.
